This distinctive unit insignia (DUI), also called a unit crest, is an original Pre-WWII US Army 31st Infantry DUI. The 31st Infantry Regiment was a Regiment that helped cover American and Philippine forces as they retreated to the Bataan Peninsula. Ultimately, all American forces were captured and held in captivity on Bataan until the island was liberated in 1945. The DUI pin has a screw back attachment and is signed Crispulo Zamora.
