Government to soldiers during WWII. This particular footlocker is exceptionally clean, inside and out. It has the correct original tray and is dated 1944 on the inside lid.
I used some furniture cleaner on the inside of the box and tray to get a lot of dust off, it must have been sitting with the lid open for a long time. But otherwise it is in "as found" condition.
