The US Army issued the powerful. 45 during WW2, and it was most often carried in a rugged leather holster worn on the pistol belt. Otherwise, the holster is in excellent shape, with absolutely no rips, holes, tears, or other damage to the supple, pliant, and gorgeous "saddle" brown leather construction. Most interestingly, it bears the classic oval "US" stamping with serifs at front, carries the original sewn leather "block" inside, and is marked at the upper back with its maker, the famous "BOYT", above the date, "-44-" (1944). It boasts a fully functional darkened brass stud closure front flap, sports a fully intact darkened brass wire hanger at the top reverse, and features the original, elegantly coiled brown rawhide leather tie down thong laced through the bottom grommet.
