Not sure how old this is, maybe 40s, maybe 50s. Definitely old and rips in the parts where you can see rips. Might be signs of dry rot. Army enlisted wool field jacket dated June 12, 1944. Manufactured by Sunshine Clothing Mfg. Under Quartermaster contract and issued through the Philadelphia Quartermaster Depot. This jacket retains period-correct WWII insignia, including U. And Infantry crossed rifles collar discs, a Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB), and a WWII-era 3rd Infantry Division shoulder patch. This uniform has been named and researched to James Deane Harris. James fought in WWII in the pacific theater and served in china at the end of the war. He also had an "EAME" ribbon with 4 bronze battle stars that were most likely taken off by the previous owner. The photo of the paper has all of the fine details of Mr Harris that I could find. The jacket is in terrific shape, only 2 moth holes on the entire piece that are super small, (shown in photos) Whatever profit I make from this sale will go into other researchable uniforms that I can hopefully return to the familys. Army Air Forces M-1944 goggles. Introduced in 1943, they were widely used byUS pilots and air crews throughout the end of WWII and into the KoreanWar. This design was notable forfeaturing a single, shatter-proof lens and a molded rubber frame. Goggles and extra lens are in very good condition. The box shows exterior signs of wear (seephotos), the interior is in good condition.
