For sale here is a very hard to find US WW2 Army Air Corps Carrying Case. The case is made of what was likely once a waterproof leatherette material and has a Talon zipper. The carrying case once had a full length shoulder strap in leather that appears to have been cut at some point. The case is clearly marked in white stencil, U.

Army Air Corps Specification No. I was unable to find pictures of this carrying case or any reference to it, but it does appear that No. 31013-A applies to a tripod mounted movie camera that was used for film footage on B-17s and B-24s. When found, this was holding a folding stock carbine, which fit nicely. The leatherette case is showing some age with crackle and some flaking, but has held up well.

This case is thin and light. The zipper works, but is very sticky. The stencil is completely legible.
There is a named equipment carry on tag on the front that is filled out in pen, but it is almost illegible. The tag is dated 1943, and was no doubt for authorization to bring this piece onto a bomber.

For reference, this case, laid flat is approximately 33" long and is about 6 3/4" wide at the widest point. The case is not stiff, and folds up pretty well. The case is lined in a fuzzy textured cotton.

This is a rare piece, and if you have everything else, you probably don't have this. Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. Please take a look at my other great items!
