   An original United States Medal of Honor (not Honour) neck cravat. From approximately 1943 to the present this style of suspension has been common to all awards presented by the US Army, Navy and Marine Corps. In early WWII the Army and Navy used slightly different suspensions from one another. The Medal of Honor is the United States equivalent to the Victoria Cross. This piece dates from late WWII or the Korean Warera, based on the pad size and the quality of the fabric.    Constructed of coarse weave tan cotton material with open collar configuration and all light brown plastic buttons present. Original late-WWII rear-seam Schlueter helmet, with Chaplain marking on the front. The marking is painted over a late-war dark repaint, on a sanded area, and has been worn down to the metal in spots. Remnants of another cross, but yellow, appear around it. The marking appears to be completely genuine, but in rough shape. Be sure to check out my other military items!
