Wwii R120 Lamp Electric Adjustable Mk I Cased Army Field Map Light

WWII R120 Lamp Electric Adjustable Mk I - Cased Army Field Map / Artillery Board Light. Offered here is a scarce original R120 Lamp Electric Adjustable Mk I, a portable military field lamp housed in its fitted wooden carrying/storage case. This type of lamp was designed for field use and could be clamped onto a board, flat surface, round rod, or stay. The instruction label specifically references use on an artillery board, making this a very interesting piece for WWII field equipment, map table, artillery, signals, dispatch, or command-post display.
The inside lid retains the original printed instruction label reading. R120 Lamp, Electric, Adjustable, Mk I. The label gives instructions for removing the lamp from the box, replacing it in the case, clamping it to an artillery board or flat surface, and clamping it onto a round rod or stay. A standout feature of this example is the completeness of the kit. The wooden case still contains the battery tray with multiple vintage Burgess No. F3G0 6-volt dry-cell batteries, cloth-covered wiring, ceramic connector, spare bulbs/fittings compartment, clamp base, articulated arm, and E. The batteries appear to be old cardboard/paper-cased dry-cell batteries and are included as found for display/completeness. They are presumed expired/dead and are not guaranteed functional. The lamp photographs exceptionally well and has strong display appeal for militaria collectors, WWII equipment collectors, artillery/map-room displays, military vehicle displays, museum-style displays, prop use, or industrial lighting collectors.
