This collectible item is a piece of militaria from the United States during World War II, specifically related to the army airborne glider wings.    This listing is for an original WWII Japanese Army Shin-Gunto koshirae (mountings) with a short wooden "Takemitsu" blade fitted inside for safe display. No metal blade is included. Included to keep the koshirae properly fitted and safe for display. Leather-covered wooden scabbard (saya) type (shorter-length set). Leather cover snap buttons: vermilion-painted; one side has lost its coating and shows bare/rusted metal tone. The handle-side fixed snap/retention hardware is missing on this type (as shown).
