Original WWII US Army Flight Surgeon Wings Breast Badge GEMSCO. Construction in silvered bronze in multi-piece construction die-stamped with having flat back with circlular center cavity.
Marked GEMSCO NY in a wreath for. Clutch back with short posts soldered direct to wing and flat back Ballou clutches. Flight surgeons are medical doctors who serve as the primary care physicians for a variety of military aviation personnel, including pilots, Flight Officers, navigators, astronauts, missile combat crews, air traffic controllers, UAV operators and other aircrew members, both officer and enlisted.
