Original WWII US Army Flight Surgeon Wings Breast Badge Sterling AE Co. Construction in gilt sterling silver in multi-piece construction die-stamped with having some cavity on reverse and in typical "sloppy" AE Co construction.
The reverse of the medical emblem on fron is also marked with AE CO UTICA NY. Clutch back with short posts soldered direct to wing and Phinney clutches. Flight surgeons are medical doctors who serve as the primary care physicians for a variety of military aviation personnel, including pilots, Flight Officers, navigators, astronauts, missile combat crews, air traffic controllers, UAV operators and other aircrew members, both officer and enlisted.
