Party Organizer KRUPENKO, by his personal example in battle, inspires fighters to heroic deeds for the glory of the Motherland. In a narrow trench, recently captured from the enemy, sits Party Organizer Krupenko, reading a newspaper. From prolonged lack of sleep his eyes are inflamed. For six days there had been continuous fighting and pursuit of the retreating enemy without any rest. And now, in the brief lull, he eagerly scans the newly arrived newspaper, familiarizing himself with the latest news.
After half an hour, he is already moving from one soldier to another, telling them about the successful advance of our troops in different sectors, asking whether the fighters had eaten, urging them to strike the enemy with even greater determination than before. The soldiers listened to him with great respect, and their warm gazes followed him-it was clear they loved and respected him.
Krupenko earned authority through his daily communication with the masses, his constant concern for educating the fighters, and his brave actions in past battles. When the signal for attack was given, the fighters heard the familiar voice of their party organizer. Krupenko was the first to leap from the trench and rush straight toward the Hitlerite dugout. Behind him rose his squad, then the platoon, and soon the entire company advanced toward the enemy fortifications.
Krupenko was the first to reach the barbed-wire entanglement. Cut the wire with your shovels! He shouted to the fighters, striking down the top strand with a blow. Having cut several more strands of wire, Krupenko threw his overcoat onto the remaining barrier and leapt over it in one jump to the other side.
Behind him, the rest of the fighters overcame the obstacle. In this way the second line of barbed-wire defenses was also breached. A minute or two later, Krupenko was already fighting in the enemy trenches. With his submachine gun, he killed seven Hitlerites.
