Original WWII US Army Flight Surgeon Wings Breast Badge Sterling Pasquale. Construction in gilt sterling silver in one-piece construction die-stamped with reverse flat with a matte texture surface. Nice silver toning visible on the front of wing. Pasquale Uniform Company, San Francisco, CA. Pin-back fastener with 45° pin.
Flight surgeons are medical doctors who serve as the primary care physicians for a variety of military aviation personnel, including pilots, Flight Officers, navigators, astronauts, missile combat crews, air traffic controllers, UAV operators and other aircrew members, both officer and enlisted.
