About Linen Mounting: The most accepted method of poster preservation is known as linen mounting. Using archival materials, the original poster is backed with acid-free paper and cotton canvas to provide strength, stability, and protection. This process helps preserve the poster for future generations, allows professional restoration when needed, and is fully reversible. Linen mounted posters are widely viewed as more desirable within the poster collecting community than unmounted examples. Linen mounting extends beyond the poster margins as is customary.
