These were used by B-17 and B-24 Aircrews. If a crew member needed to get back to the rear of the aircraft, he would disconnect his oxygen at his station and connect the D-2 tank to walk to the rear of the bomber. The cylinder is approximately 24 inches long with a diameter of 6 inches. The overall length is approximately 28 long to the end of the regulator.
