Army Signal Corps BC-611-F Handie-Talkie Radio Receiver & Transmitter Galvin Mfg. Estimated Age: Mid-1940s (WWII era). Condition Description: This is an authentic vintage U.
Army Signal Corps Radio Receiver and Transmitter, model BC-611-F, commonly known as a Handie-Talkie. These iconic portable radios were extensively used by American forces during World War II. The label clearly indicates U. Army Signal Corps" and "GALVIN MFG. CORPORATION CHICAGO ILLINOIS, " with a contract number "10531-PHILA-45-01, which likely denotes a 1945 production contract.

The serial number is 23274. The unit retains its original olive drab finish, showing wear, scratches, and some areas of paint loss consistent with military use and age.

The integrated earpiece and mouthpiece are present. The extending antenna is intact and appears functional. The original canvas carrying strap is also present, showing signs of use and age, but still attached.

The battery compartment is accessible by opening the top latch. Inside, a red label provides instructions for battery placement: "USE ONLY BA-37'A' BATTERY AND BA-38'B' BATTERY" and PLACE BATTERIES IN POSITION WITH + (POS) END OUT. The battery contacts show some oxidation but appear to be in reasonable condition for their age. There is also a small data plate on the side with FREQ.
