100% Genuine Ww2 Japanese Army Military Officer Sword Katana Signed Nagamitsu
You have found a 100% Genuine WW2 Japanese Army Officer sword! Also known as Type 95 Shin Gunto. Sword tang is chiselled signed "Ichiryushi Saku". Translate to "Ichiryushi made this". Also known as Ichihara Ichiryushi Nagamitsu or Nagamitsu. A very well known Rikugun Jumei Tosho (Army Approved Sword-smith) during WW2. 1940 era traditional hand made blade. A director of Okayama prison and utilized prison labor.
To help him polish and produce swords for the war effort. Listed in John Slough's book page 123-125.
Cutting edge is a little over 26 inch. Entire sword in scabbard is 37 inch! Blade has no nick, no bend, no crack, no pitting with active chusuguba temper line!
Blade shows original war time polish and some light staining and it's very sharp! Scabbard is heavy metal with no bend, no crack, and in good condition! Tsuka ito is tight fit, no loose and no cut! Tsuba and seppas are all matched with number 26 stamped! Nagamitsu blades have also received Hozon origami from the NBTHK in Japan. This attests to the high regard that these blades are currently getting. In Japan and the fact that they are judged to be true gendaito. All complete, genuine and original fittings on sword!
