Ww2, Us Army Ike Jacket & Pants, 5th Army, Combat Infantry Badge Cib, Named
WW2, 1945, Ike Jacket and pants with matching names, L 9877. Combat experience in Europe as part of the 5th Army Infantry (A5 sleeve patch). The 5th Army first saw action in Italy. L 9877 saw combat action in Italy showing the sterling Combat Infantry Badge (CIB), the CIB is awarded to those who "participate in active ground combat".
STERLING stamped on the back of the CIB. Smaller soldier, the mannequin is just a little too big to close all the buttons on the Ike Jacket. Description of the other patches and ribbons: Honorable Discharge patch, Blue Circle within the white star patch: 8th Service Command, 2 gold overseas service chevrons: 1 year of overseas service, 1 Service stripe: 3 years of service.
Ribbons top to bottom right: Victory ribbon, Good Conduct ribbon, ribbon with bronze star = Participation in a named European campaign (ETO Campaign), the last ribbon is an American Campaign ribbon. The ribbons have discolored over the years. Pants are in very good condition, jacket has some moth holes and some wear, please see pictures.
