Wwii Japanese Army Shin-gunto Koshirae Leather Covered Saya, Short Takemitsu F16

This listing is for an original WWII Japanese Army Shin-Gunto koshirae (mountings) with a short wooden "Takemitsu" blade fitted inside for safe display. No metal blade is included.
The handle-side fixed snap/retention hardware is missing on this type (as shown). Army standard Type 98 style tsuba. Habaki and seppa are included. Tsuka: samegawa (ray skin) with black tsuka-ito. Total length (in scabbard): 89 cm. Wooden blade length: 37 cm. This set shows authentic wartime use and age.
Leather cover has cracks, scratches, and stains from use. Notable wear at the scabbard tip: the outer layer of leather on the doubled/reinforced area is rubbed through.
Fittings show honest patina; structure feels solid overall. Sword stand shown in photos is for display/photography only and is NOT included. About the wooden blade (Takemitsu). After WWII, Japan introduced strict registration rules for sword blades. Many families turned in unregistered steel blades and kept the original koshirae as a keepsake, often inserting a wooden "takemitsu" to preserve the fit and allow safe display.
Please review all photos carefully - they are an important part of the description.
