Untouched Dual-Era WWII Artifact that tells a complete story from factory to fleet:The Shell: A rare, early Summer 1942 McCord Fixed-Bale shell (Lot 154B). The Factory Trace: Verified by a yellow inspector's fingerprint inside the crown. Wartime Wear: Features an authentic front stress crack and a snapped bale, both classic traits of brittle early-war Hadfield manganese steel. The Navy Career: Transformed into a Navy Damage Control / Firefighter helmet, designated by the red rim and red paint remnants on the exterior cork texture.
