Up for sale we have a truly awesome U. I originally bought this grouping from a man who frequents estate sales in the state of Missouri. Interestingly the laundry numbers on the shirt and jacket are "L-0174" which dont match to the laundry numbers Mr Caughenbaugh would have had. I know it was common for clothing to be reissued for U.
GIs during WWII, so Im pretty confident thats what happened here. This grouping is just begging for further research though. The shirt and jacket are both patched to the 9th Army Air Force and Army service command.

The Ike jacket has four collar discs and they all have the correct WWII period flat back clutches. The collar discs indicate signal corps service, and this matches the piping on the garrison caps. Unfortunately the Ike jacket has a bit of moth damage to it. One large hole on the left shoulder and a patch of small holes scattered around the back. The wool garrison caps have some moth damage as well, but the damage isnt too bad.

The khaki HBT shirt has no moth damage whatsoever. You get everything as found from the estate sale. Three garrison caps, an Ike jacket, HBT shirt, and a pair of socks. Ive also included a print out of Mr Caughenbaughs grave marker in Missouri. This awesome "Estate sale fresh" Uniform grouping would make a fantastic addition to any collection!
