For sale here is a very cool US WW2 Women's Army Corps WAC Female Army Nurse's Trunk Group. The group comes in a trunk or suitcase that is named to Lt. A quick Google search turned up several photos of Jane, from Illinois, in the Army, mentioned her as a Nurse in England, and her marriage announcement photo appears to be of her wearing this Ike jacket. The group includes a beautiful British Made Barathea Covered Button Ike Jacket, a pair of WAC 8 1/2 Double Buckle Boots, a size 34R 2nd Pattern HBT Jacket, a burgundy wool Red Cross Style Sweater Vest by McGregor, and the functional but heavily used suitcase. The only thing named to Godesiabois is the suitcase.

No other items are marked except for some unrelated laundry numbers on the HBT jacket. Details about each item in the group are below. Ike Jacket: This is a great one! I have never seen a hand made WAC Ike before, and this one has some special features.

This one is made of Barathea wool, and features fabric covered buttons. The jacket is complete with Nurse Officer's collar insignia that are all period and all feature flat backed or domed period clutches. The jacket shows no signs of patches ever being there.

There are 4 overseas stripes on the lower left sleeve. The rank insignia appears to be for a 1st Lt. At first glance, but they are actually a cut down JR Gaunt Sterling Captain's rank pin that has been cleverly attached with pins.

The Ike shows plenty of wrinkles from being folded in the trunk, and there are three pretty good sized moth nips. One on the left shoulder, front of the right arm, and center of the back. Otherwise, the condition is very good. The jacket is fully lined in green satin, and there are no markings that i can find anywhere. This Ike jacket is tiny, and is easily the smallest WW2 jacket that i have ever come across. Armpit to Armpit is 16", Waist is 12.5", Sleeve is 21.5", and the Top to Bottom with the collar is 21.5". Though small, this is a rare and stunning piece. Boots: A matching pair of February 1945 dated Boston Depot Double Buckles.

These appear unworn, or at the very least, only lightly worn. They feature perfect heel cups, and a smooth toe sole with some tape residue on them. Unfortunately, the boots are stiff, and the outer layer of polish is flaking away.

I think this is an easy fix with some polish, but at the moment, they look rough, but will display well with some work. These boots are size 8 1/2. Again, they will take some work, but will be nice. HBT: A second pattern Army HBT Jacket in size 34R. The jacket is complete with pin back gold filled 2nd Lt. Rank, and clutch back Nurse insignia with flat clutches. The HBT has a small hole in the back and one in the front of the left arm. There is also significant cuff wear and hem wear.

The jacket shows heavy fading, and the tag is completely washed out. There are some laundry marks on the exterior of the front button area that start with an S, and don't seem to belong to Jane. All of the 13 star buttons are present and show finish loss. A nice jacket with some good pins in a small size.

Armpit to Armpit is 19.5", Sleeve is 22.5", and Top to Bottom with collar is 28. Sweater: A Burgundy Red Cross Style Nurse's Sweater Vest.

This was made by McGregor and is marked McGregor USA Royal Clan and is made from Shetland Wool and Polyester. The vest has two front waist pockets and three front closure buttons. This shows some pilling and soiling, but there are no holes or mothing. All of the buttons are present. The Armpit to Armpit measurement is 19" and the Top to Bottom is 23". Trunk: A Black leatherette covered wooden frame suitcase. The case measures 21" X 14" X 7. Both sides are Stenciled, Lt. Godesiabois, N-776322, 9028CC in white paint. The inside of the case is lined in black fabric, and there are some pockets for storage. The exterior of the case shows some water damage and seems to have one weak corner. Both latches work and open just like they should.
