Ww2 imperial Japanese military sword. One month is required to obtain an export license in Japan. Presenting a highly sought-after piece of World War II memorabilia - an Imperial Japanese Army officer's Type 98 sword, crafted by the esteemed Maegawa Kenkitsu, a commissioned swordsmith of the Imperial Army. The sword carries the seal'Noshu Seki Maegawa Kenkitsu Koresaku,' indicating the artisan's mark. It measures 65.3 cm in length and 1.6 cm in curvature.

It features a single mekugi-ana and is registered in Shiga Prefecture as of July in the 5th year of Reiwa (2023). The blade is in robust condition, without any nicks, bends, bulges, or forging cracks. It weighs 764.7 grams and comes with a copper, silver-plated habaki. The scabbard is a gloss-painted iron sheath, as per the 98-type military specifications.

It also carries the inscription of the previous owner's name,'Fukuda. Maegawa Kenkitsu's works are rare, as he did not produce any swords post-WWII, making this a highly prized piece.
