Australian Army Women's Medical Service WWII Medal Group with Pacific Star Nurse

Australian Nurse Australian Army Medical Women's Service (AAMWS) WWII 4 Medal Group including the Pacific Star to Nell Philp born in 1920 Gatton, Queensland. Sale includes her red cross shoulder patch, Pacific Star ribbon bar. FHA pin and RSL badge. She served in Morotai and Labuan, Borneo. Her service number is listed both as QX56552 or QFX56552.

Served for over three years with the 2/6 AGH. Her records have recently become available on the Australian National Archives. 1939-45 Star un-named as issued.

This is an original medal group to Australian Army Medical Women's Service Nurse Orderly Nell Philps. The Australian War Memorial states From December 1942 nearly 8,500 AAMWS served as nurses , nursing aides, and technicians tending sick and wounded soldiers in the Middle East, New Guinea, and Australia. The AAMWS served alongside army nursing sisters in hospitals.
