Anna Bratton (madden name Perry). Served in WWII as a nurse in the US Army. This is her uniform from her estate. It includes extra pins as seen in pictures. Untouched fresh from the estate. Dress jacket skirt shirt hat and 2 nurses hats as seen in pictures. The shirt has spots and is missing 1 button on the picket as seen in pictures.   

   During WWII, the need for American troops superseded the traditional draft conscripts. Congress passed special legislation to allow women to serve in four units: the Women's Army Corps (WAC), the Navy Women's Reserve (WAVES), the Marine Corps Women's Reserve, and the Coast Guard Women Reserves (SPARS). Vintage WWII women's wool jacket liner. MEASUREMENTS (approximate): Bust - 40" Waist - 38" Length - 23" Sleeve (shoulder seam to end of cuff) - 24". The tag in the pocket is very washed out, but the size is 18R. The collar has a repair and both cuffs have a lot of wear: tears, holes and fraying. There are a few small moth nibbles on the sleeves, but nothing too detracting. Some light staining in places. The lining has a lot of staining.    Original WWII women's Cadet Nurse summer uniform jacket. Measurements (approximate): Bust - 38" Waist - 33" Length - 24 1/2. Cadet nurse patch on one sleeve. The buttons show wear and discoloration. There are some light brown/ yellow stains and a black speck above one pocket. The shoulder epaulets look handmade. The underside of the epaulets is a slightly different color than the rest of the jacket. The size tag is completely washed out.
