Original World War II United States Army enlisted service jacket worn by a combat Infantry Sergeant. This is an authentic WWII-era wool service coat, not a reproduction, costume, or post-war reissue. All insignia, ribbons, cords, and rank appear period-correct and consistent with wartime manufacture and wear. The jacket is constructed of original WWII olive drab wool serge and is tailored in the classic enlisted pattern with a fitted waist. Interior shows an original size tag marked 36L, a desirable smaller size that is increasingly difficult to find and preferred by collectors and museums. No modern labels are present. Sleeve rank insignia consists of three chevrons, indicating the rank of Sergeant (E-5). This confirms the jacket was worn by a Non-Commissioned Officer, adding historical significance compared to lower enlisted examples. The left shoulder displays the blue Infantry branch cord, worn exclusively by infantry soldiers and confirming front-line combat assignment. The right shoulder features a red, white, and blue shoulder cord consistent with period ceremonial or unit wear from the WWII to immediate post-war era.
