Vintage Wwii Us Army Infantry Sergeant Service Jacket Puc Medal Blue Cord 36l

Original World War II United States Army enlisted service jacket worn by a combat Infantry Sergeant. This is an authentic WWII-era wool service coat, not a reproduction, costume, or post-war reissue. All insignia, ribbons, cords, and rank appear period-correct and consistent with wartime manufacture and wear. The jacket is constructed of original WWII olive drab wool serge and is tailored in the classic enlisted pattern with a fitted waist. Interior shows an original size tag marked 36L, a desirable smaller size that is increasingly difficult to find and preferred by collectors and museums. No modern labels are present. Sleeve rank insignia consists of three chevrons, indicating the rank of Sergeant (E-5). This confirms the jacket was worn by a Non-Commissioned Officer, adding historical significance compared to lower enlisted examples. The left shoulder displays the blue Infantry branch cord, worn exclusively by infantry soldiers and confirming front-line combat assignment. The right shoulder features a red, white, and blue shoulder cord consistent with period ceremonial or unit wear from the WWII to immediate post-war era. The jacket displays multiple original ribbon bars. The top ribbon is the Presidential Unit Citation, one of the highest U. Unit awards, given only to units that demonstrated extraordinary heroism in combat. This is a major value and historical driver and indicates service with a highly decorated combat unit. The lower ribbon bar includes campaign ribbons with two campaign devices, indicating participation in two major WWII campaigns. The ribbon combination is consistent with Good Conduct and European-African-Middle Eastern theater service, confirming extended wartime service in active combat zones. Army qualification badge is affixed to the chest. While sometimes mistaken for a German Iron Cross by inexperienced viewers, this is a correct American military badge and is properly placed. The upper sleeve bears an original infantry division shoulder patch with red field and animal insignia, further confirming combat infantry service. All patches and insignia appear period-applied, not recently sewn. Condition is good for an original WWII wool uniform.
This jacket has not been aggressively cleaned or altered, which is preferred by serious collectors. This uniform represents a real World War II U. Army infantryman who served in active combat and whose unit earned one of the highest honors awarded by the U. A strong example suitable for an advanced militaria collection, museum display, or serious historical preservation. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
