This is a vintage piece of military surplus (army-specific) herringbone twill (HBT) fabric from approximately the early-to-mid 1940s. It measures out at approximately 44 inches long by 38 inches wide, just over standard yardage width-wise, and includes the selvedge ends to the fabric on both edges. Although the fabric lacks any specific identifying marks, such as stamps or labels, this piece was originally found with a variety of other WWII-era military shirts and jackets, and was most likely intended as surplus fabric for repairs of those jackets.
