Vintage 1940s Army Hbt Twill Od Military Wwii Yardage Selvedge Nos Fabric 44x38

   This is a vintage piece of military surplus (army-specific) herringbone twill (HBT) fabric from approximately the early-to-mid 1940s. It measures out at approximately 44 inches long by 38 inches wide, just over standard yardage width-wise, and includes the selvedge ends to the fabric on both edges. Although the fabric lacks any specific identifying marks, such as stamps or labels, this piece was originally found with a variety of other WWII-era military shirts and jackets, and was most likely intended as surplus fabric for repairs of those jackets.    Offered is a lot of with signatures from Major General Hugh J Knerr (see biography below). Also some fabric from a German plane he cut while in Munich at the end of the war. Fabric sections measure about 15 - 17cm each. From the Harry Block collection. Have 2 other lots relating to this very important US Air Force General. Knerr was one of a small group of airpower advocates who helped keep alive and to expand on General "Billy" Mitchell's theories of air warfare.
