Description: This is an exceptionally rare, 100% authentic World War II (Pre-1945) Imperial Japanese Army (IJA) portable folding field lantern, historically referred to as a "Cantera" (/). This type of lantern was essential field gear issued to officers, engineers, and infantry units for night marches, trench illumination, or underground bunker use. It features a collapsible frame with a wooden handle, allowing it to be compactly stored when not in use. The lantern retains much of its original IJA military khaki/olive drab paint. This complete set includes the highly sought-after original canvas transport case with its leather strap, along with period-correct candle remnants and small base parts as shown in the photos.
