Original Wwii U. S. 9th Army Air Force Aaf Ike Jacket Uniform Group With Id
Bentivegna who served with an Anti Aircraft Artillery unit attached to the 9th Army Airforce. The group consists of his Eisenhower jacket made of brown wool. The all original to the jacket insignia consists of an Anti Aircraft Command patch on the right shoulder, 9th Army Airforce patch on the left shoulder, U. & Coastal Artillery collar disks, 3 place ribbon bar - Good Conduct/American Campaign/ETO with 3 stars below the WWII Victory ribbon bar & 3 overseas service bars on the left cuff. Inside the pocket is a spare 9Th AAF patch and a Discharge patch that he never sewed on.
The Spec tag is present in the inside pocket, it is marked a Size 34L (changed to a R for regular) and is dated 6/9/44. The jacket is in overall excellent condition & all of the buttons are present. Approximate measurements of the Ike are: Armpit to armpit - 17 inches, should to cuff - 20 inches, length measured back of collar to bottom front - 22 inches. Also included in this group is his wool enlisted shirt with 9th AAF patch, size 14X32, some mothing on the front, wool pants with his laundry number written inside, size 30X29, 1 moth hole on front leg, Khaki web trouser belt with buckle stamped with his laundry number, enlisted overseas cap, red piped for artillery, size 6 3/4 and dated 1/31/44 on spec tag & stamped with his laundry number, winter underwear shirt showing some stains, 2 khaki ties both stamped with his name, one tie has a stain, OD wool 5 button sweater, one small hole on front, OD cloth brimmed hood stamped with his name, shows some staining and an American Red Cross HBT wash/shave apron. Everything has that familiar old basement smell to it, could use a dry cleaning if so desired. Overall an excellent uniform grouping worthy of further research!
