This is a WWII Imperial Japanese Army commemorative hanging scroll set, painted and presented in 1938 to celebrate the early stage of the Second Sino-Japanese War (known as the "China Incident" in Japanese official documents at that time). The artwork features an auspicious combination of cranes, turtles, pine trees, and a rising sun, symbols of longevity, prosperity, and harmony in East Asian tradition.    Original WWII Japanese Childs hand made/painted army themed commemorative silk kimono. It measures 13.5 inches shoulder to shoulder and 41 inches long. Has an old repair on one side of the back along with a few small rips in the material. It also has a few stains and the inside liner is damaged, but still displays great.
