   For sale here is a great looking US WW2 Era Wooden Ammo Chest Crate. The crate is for 210 rounds of linked. The box is very heavy and substantial with steel banding and carrying handles. All markings are legible and the Ordnance markings look great. The box appears to have been lacquered at one time. The back side of the box is marked For Training Program Only. The bottom of the box shows some wear, wood loss, and some water damage. The inisde of the box is nice and clean. The box is approximately 10 1/2" tall, 15 1/2" wide, and 13 1/2 front to back.    The hat is a non ridged soft Crusher Cap type of hat that a pilot would wear their headset over wile flying an aircraft. The Officers hat insignia is a "V-Wing" type of Eagle. The Army had both the "V-Wing", and the "S-Wing" types during WW2. But, the "V-Wing" type of hat eagle was only used during WW2, and fell out of use after the war ended.
