Original WW2 British Army Infantry Lifebelt D-Day Landings. This type of lifebelt was worn by British infantry who participated in the amphibious landing on D-Day during the Second World War. The belt was designed to provide some buoyancy to prevent soldiers from being pulled underwater by the weight of their equipment. There is a stamped TO: and FROM: on the bottom with the owners name and unit. It has a metal tag that reads Miller Mfg Co. The trunk measures 38" long x 16" wide x 13.25 deep.
