Army NCO Uniform Set - 77th Infantry Division - Named & Documented. This outstanding and fully badged WWII U. Army uniform belonged to Staff Sergeant Calvin H. Miller, a combat engineer who served from 1941 to 1945 and took part in multiple campaigns across the Pacific Theater. The Class A wool service jacket features the patch of the 77th Infantry Division, also known as the "Statue of Liberty Division, " and the engineer branch insignia, service stripes, overseas bars, and a ribbon bar rack with multiple campaign stars. Of special note is the distinctive pin on the overseas cap identifying the. A vital support and construction unit that worked under the U. Army Corps of Engineers in coordination with combat divisions in forward zones. The opposite sleeve bears the rarely seen Amphibious Engineer patch, marking the wearer's connection to amphibious operations. This named set comes with a copy of Miller's 1950 veteran's compensation application, confirming his service history. Activated in 1942 and composed primarily of men from New York and the northeastern U.
