The inside surface of the box is covered with lead plates - so the box is very heavy!    For sale here is a great looking US WW2 Era Wooden Ammo Chest Crate. The crate is for 210 rounds of linked. The box is very heavy and substantial with steel banding and carrying handles. All markings are legible and the Ordnance markings look great. The box appears to have been lacquered at one time. The back side of the box is marked For Training Program Only.
