   This is the aluminum box that I believe was used on the Phillips Pack Saddle. It has been used for quite a while to hold gun cleaning supplies and had some oil residue on the inside. It seems like the gun oil may have helped to preserve the interior. There wasn't a lot of oil residue and I have only wiped it out with some paper towels. The riveted in liner is still present and covers the bottom, front and both ends. The liner looks like it is in good condition.    For sale here is a great looking US WW2 Era Wooden Ammo Chest Crate. The crate is for 210 rounds of linked. The box is very heavy and substantial with steel banding and carrying handles. All markings are legible and the Ordnance markings look great. The box appears to have been lacquered at one time. The back side of the box is marked For Training Program Only. The bottom of the box shows some wear, wood loss, and some water damage. The inisde of the box is nice and clean. The box is approximately 10 1/2" tall, 15 1/2" wide, and 13 1/2 front to back.
