Original WWII German very late war pioneer backpack for the 3kg charge and smoke candles. This is the middle part of the pioneer pouch set. It is unissued and uses the late war skeleton style clips and the straps are clearly left overs from other equipment, like A frame bags. They also used what looks like recycled Italian gray leather for some of the closures. It is devoid of any markings. I picked this up north of Zwickau in an area that was littered with textile manufacturers during the war. It was found in a local house clean out.    A very scarce original late-war example of the 6x30 Dienstglas , produced from speckled red/brown coloured Bakelite. This is a completely untouched set, and comes complete as it was issued with the correct model of leather neck strap & rubber ocular cover. These fittings were unique to Bakelite 6x30 and are very seldom seen on surviving examples today!
