First issued during the Winter of 1943-44 to select troops fighting in Italy, this outfit was finally issued in the ETO starting in September, 1943, and to replacements being equipped in the United States. The uniform became common place by December and prevalent by early Spring 1945.
This jacket and trouser is the clothing given to all soldiers except paratroopers. Made of water resistant cotton, this M1943 Combat Field Jacket is in EXCELLENT used condition. I acquired this last month for a film I was working on, titled, "Breakthrough".
