Here is a very rare item, a WWII US Army arctic parka hand-painted just after the war with GIESSEN YELLOW JACKETS on the back, in reference to the Frankford Yellow Jackets (Philadelphia football team famous in the 1920s). Giessen was a town in Germany occupied by the US Army after the war and a large military base was established there, with over 10,000 American soldiers and their families inhabiting the base at one point.
