   WWII US Army Tanker Jacket 1945 296th Quartermaster Salvage Repair Co WW2. This is an ORIGINAL WWII era US Army Tankers jacket. Wool lined This was owned by Francis H. Smith of Florence CO, 37352998. He served in the 296th Quartermaster Salvage Repair Company, and he was in WWII in Europe from late 1944 through 1945. You can see his name in the Unit Roster which is also original from WWII and is included.    The uniform is wrinkled and dirty. I was afraid that if I washed or dry cleaned the uniform that it was cause further damage considering the small moth holes in the wool. The combat patch from the 4th Armored Division but the insignia on the cover is from the 15th Cavalry Regiment. Both served in WW2 and in similar areas and engagements. I think the soldier may have been transferred from one unit to the other.
