   This is an original, named, 1943 U. Marine Corps (USMC) WWII fixed bail M1 helmet with a mid-WWII Westinghouse helmet liner. The fixed bail helmet shell and the liner are an original set and have been together since they were issued to a US WWII GI. The GI wrote his name and full Army Serial Number (ASN) neatly in ink inside the helmet shell. Is by McCord, it has a heat of steel number stamped into the front (under the front seam), the number is 563D (indicating a likely manufacturing date of 1943).    Vintage original WWII early war blue women's army nurse (ANC) blue uniform jacket. Bust - 35 1/2" Waist - 28" Length - 28 The jacket is in overall good condition. There are a few tiny moth nibbles on the sleeve, near the 5th Service Command patch and on the belt. The holes are small and not very noticeable. The skirt measures 25 1/2" waist and 37" hips.    Howard Keith Burney who was a B17 bomber pilot in late WWII with the 97th Bomb Group. The sale was here in Lincoln, but the history I have on the vet shows that he was from Harington NE and served in the USAAF from Feb 8, 1944 - May 18, 1947. According to the pages he marked in the unit history (Pg 210-224) he flew 19 missions before he was injured on Feb. 27, 1945 by flak that shattered the plexiglass windshield of his aircraft.
