Original Wwii Army

Not sure how old this is, maybe 40s, maybe 50s. Definitely old and rips in the parts where you can see rips. Might be signs of dry rot.    This is a good example of a War Time Era Japanese Sword carried by an Army Officer during World War II. It is mounted with an ancestral grooved KOTO blade that wears a cutting edge that measures 21 inches in length. The blade has survived in nice condition with only minor surface blemishes and continues to boast a lovely wavy temper line that extends to the tip on either side.    This is an example of a Japanese Army Officer Sword in Civilian Mount that dates from the World War 2 Era. It is mounted with a Shin Shinto Era blade that wears a cutting edge of 27 1/4 inches in length. The blade has a couple of nicks to the cutting edge but could be remedied in the right hands as well as has some surface blemishes and the unsigned tang wears one hole.
