Original WWII US Army Air Force Air Transport Command ATC Pilot-Captain Wing. Construction in gilt bronze, die-stamped. Unmarked as expected for ATC wings. Air Transport Command (ATC) was a United States Air Force unit that was created during World War II as the strategic airlift component of the United States Army Air Forces. This is an extremely fine World War II British pattern U. Army Air Corps Air Bombardier wing that is in excellent condition. The wing is full size and measures 3 inches from wing tip to wing tip. The bomb and bullseye in the center are added as a separate piece. The wing is extremely well struck and exhibits the distinctive British fletching to the wing feathers. The unmarked reverse is with the characteristic British triangular hinged pin and open catch assemblies both of which remain functional.
