Air Force parka models D-1 and D-2 were developed in 1943 for mechanics and service personnel who had to work outdoors on the flight line for long periods of time in cold weather.    Set has not been tested, but appears to be in excellent condition. The ground probe is excellent and the wiring to the earpiece and the microphone are complete, but there is no fabric head strap that would support the earpiece. There is also no aluminum tube that mounts on the mike. The only other piece that appears to be missing is a small tool that was probably a screw driver and it would be in the end of the pouch where there is a small loop near the bottom.    Rare JQMD 1944 Original WWII US Army Escape and Evasion False Bottom Oversized. Very rare and hard to find JQMD 1944 oversized canteen cover. This was made for escape and evasion purposes, the cover is taller than a normal canteen cover, these originally had a wool pad in the bottom below the canteen that could be removed, underneath the pad small items could be stored and hidden from enemies when captured.
