This is an original poster from the estate of Ruth Von Euw, originally from the personal collection of her father, Stephen Von Euw, who had been the editor of the Rockville (CT) Journal from the 1930s until his death in 1955. During World War II, Von Euw had made sure that every local serviceman and servicewomen received free copies of the newspaper wherever they were posted. This is an old item dated to the WWII period, as such, you should expect wear commensurate with age and use, as pictured. There are roll and fold markings.    WWII Original Red Army Soviet ID Guards Political Commissar Medals Researched. Issued to Russian called Salinkov Vasilij Anton, born in 1904 he served as Guards Sergeant. Fought in the 60th Guards - Mortars. Medal for Bravery 5.1944. During the heavy battle, carried ammunition whilst moving on the belly to eh front line. Battle Merit Medal 2.1945. Brought Ammo to the Frontline during the battle at night. Once he found ammo on fire and put the fire out saving the ammo. He had the following other medals. WW2 GERMAN ARMY COMBAT HELMET WITH CROSS WIRE CAMO. COMPLETE WITH LINER, WITH WRITTEN NAME OF THE SOLDIER. THE SHELL IS NICE WITHOUT ANY CRACKS OR DENTS, WITH ABOUT 70% OF ORIGINAL PAINT. THERE ARE SOME PITTINGS ON THE SURFACE, NOT DEEP, CONSISTENT WITH AGE AND USE. MARKED ON THE RIM WITH BATCH NUMBER 2580 AND MAKER/SIZE Q66. LEATHER LINER IS NOT DRIED OUT AND HAS ALL 8 FINGERS AND DRAW STRING AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. OVERALL IT IS VERY GOOD ORIGINAL HELMET WITH HONEST COMBAT SIGNS.
