This is the real thing, a genuine 75+ year old United States Army Air Forces type B-6 brown shearling leather flight helmet in remarkably good condition, without punctures, tears, missing fur or perceptible wear.    Lovely and took me ages to get in a good size. Bullion insignia, almost free of MOTHerschmitt attack apart from low RH side and an invisible repair to the rear which really is hard to see. Bullion is wonderful and lovely Bombardier wings. Sadly no maker or names in the lining or pockets. Waist band 40 to 42 or less would still look smart. Shoulder to cuff 24.5.    WW2 era or just after B-15 flight jacket. Original Conmar zip is flawless. Condition is excellent save for a few solid field repairs to stress areas done in matching poplin cotton, some minor faded age marks and tiny imperfections/picks here and there, knits are in really good shape as is the interior.    The Pilot's jacket is a B-5A type of flight jacket. There is an Army Air Forces logo with the Winged Star on one of the shoulders of the jacket. The "Army Air Force" changed to "Army Air Forces" in 1943. This is a 1943 to 1945 era markings with the plural "Forces". It is old and in Used Condition, with wear damage from use. There is damage to the knitted cuffs and other parts of the jacket. There is sun fading, dirt stains, scratches, paint loss, and oxidation to the metal parts.
