   This is an original, WW2 era M43 US army jacket that has some small flaws that contribute, however, to its great vintage look. Like many original jackets, the internal draw string is long gone. Size tag 40 R, no manufacturing tag. I would size this for the avoidance of doubt as a 42 R. Size and condition are very rare, I had to search long and hard for the large sizes in my collection which I could also use for reenactments on the original Battle of the Bulge battlefields around Bastogne.    Excellent condition with only two small rust colored stains, no rips. Stamped with the name Magatz, I can hear the drill sergeant now. The last photo showing the chest measurement is the best representation of the jackets color. The size tag says 36r but measures 22 across arm pit to arm pit.
