This distinctive unit insignia (DUI), also called a unit crest, is an original Pre-WWII US Army 31st Infantry DUI. The 31st Infantry Regiment was a Regiment that helped cover American and Philippine forces as they retreated to the Bataan Peninsula. Excellent original condition, and very high-end made WW2 U. The inner liner is quilted and appears to be a silk-like material. The leather band is firmly intact, has all the original stitching, and is soft and supple. The 115th Infantry DI appears original to the piece and has no hallmark and flat back early war clutches.
