Original late WWII US Army airborne M1C helmet, with stainless rear-seam, placing this likely very late-1944, early 1945. Rough condition with heavy paint loss, and only has one complete strap and the end of the other. Both are frayed near the bales. Be sure to check out my other helmets!    Original and scarce WWII US Army M1938 tanker helmet. Hard composite construction with original leather lining. Original and scarce radio receivers with correct Y-shape cable and PL-54 black plug and R-14 radio receiver. A small square pad has been inserted between the top of the leather liner and the crown (for added comfort). M38 helmets with actual field use are very difficult to find. These were used by B-17 and B-24 Aircrews. If a crew member needed to get back to the rear of the aircraft, he would disconnect his oxygen at his station and connect the D-2 tank to walk to the rear of the bomber.
