Very nice condition, chest pit to pit 23 inches, larger size. Interior was replaced at some point with one from a m422a. Zipper in good working order. Original painting on the back. Leather is soft and supple with good patina.
This is an exceptionally rare WWII Imperial Japanese Army winter helmet, used by tank crew members. Made of thick brown leather with fur lining, this helmet was designed to protect armored vehicle personnel from extreme cold during operations in Manchuria and Northern China. The inside features a well-preserved five-pointed star insignia, a symbol of the Imperial Army. The construction is rugged and the original chinstrap and interior padding remain intact-remarkably complete for its age.
