Leather is supple, with natural color variation throughout; very clean. This is an exceptionally rare WWII Imperial Japanese Army winter helmet, used by tank crew members. Made of thick brown leather with fur lining, this helmet was designed to protect armored vehicle personnel from extreme cold during operations in Manchuria and Northern China. The inside features a well-preserved five-pointed star insignia, a symbol of the Imperial Army.
